Factors Impacting the Choice of Seatbelt Use, Accounting for Complexity of Travelers’ Behaviors

Wyoming has one of the highest fatality rates, and a significantly lower rate seatbelt use in United States. Thus, this study was conducted with objective to investigate contributory factors choice drivers’ use. Various environmental characteristics were considered as it is expected that they account for unseen impact buckling up. Although mixed model been used extensively studying impacts on severity crashes, not many studies have regarding contributing itself. In study, standard logit extended heterogeneity across observations. addition, incorporate random parameters’ taste based means other observed variables. The results highlighted moving from model, considering tastes, gain fit, also an adjustment model’s estimates. findings indicated some impacting wearing include gender, road classification, weather condition, vehicle types, time driving, registration day week. Those are mainly related unobserved behaviors. For instance, drivers particular own types or drive their vehicles under condition.
